The development of nuclear science has brought enormous benefits for the world’s poorest countries, which must gain access to the best that technology can offer. Some developing countries are now considering the construction of nuclear power plants in order to achieve two aims: finding a reliable energy supply and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The peaceful nuclear technology finds applications in many areas as agriculture, food industry and medical research, so it represents an important mean for the achievement of the just adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
