Jean Paul Fitoussi  is  professor of Economics at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences – Po), Paris and LUISS Guido Carli University, Rome.


He has published many articles in international scientific journals on inflation and unemployment theories, open economy theory, macroeconomic theory as well as on policy and European integration. He has also published numerous books and essays on related subjects. He is also the co-editor and author of the annual Report on the State of the European Union.


From 2000 to 2009 he was Advisor at the European Parliament and the Commission of Monetary and Economic Affairs. He was also a member of the UN Commission on the Reform of the International Monetary and Financial System and coordinator of the Commission on the Measurement of Economic Performance and Social Progress (2008/2009) established by the French Government.

Since 1997, he has been  member of the Council of Economic Analysis of the French Prime Minister and a member of the Economic Commission of the Nation.
